Jay and Sue Maddux, Founders of the Links Program

Jay and Sue Maddux have been actively working with teens since 1991. They began by converting the lower level of their home in Lannon to provide space for teens to congregate and enjoy after school conversation and weekend activities. Jay and Sue provided each teen with unconditional acceptance and the opportunity to talk to caring adults genuinely concerned about their feelings and thoughts and willing to provide guidance.

The dedicated work that Jay and Sue were doing in the community was recognized by the board of the Waukesha Teen Center who was looking for a new director that understood and could communicate with youth. Jay was offered and accepted the challenge of directorship of the Teen Center in 2005. This gave Jay and Sue a new perspective and deeper insight into the needs of Waukesha teens.

In 2008, the Teen Center property was acquired by Carroll University for the expansion of their campus. Just blocks away from the original Teen Center location, a smaller building became available for lease and that was the previous home of the Links program, before we moved to our current location in rural Pewaukee.
